CASE STUDY
River City Rhythm [Brand Unification]
Project type: branding, print media, content creation
2016 – 2018
Context:
When I was brought on as Brand Manager for River City Rhythm, the first order of business was to unify the nonprofit’s brand, which had been, up to that point, a bit all over the place. There were no clear guidelines for usage in regards to color, font, or general overall style of the offerings. So before I could begin working on other projects within the organization, I identified the elements and created a branding guideline for each of the performing groups to follow as the organization grew.
Challenges:
With three distinct performing groups within the organization, it was imperative that each had their own look and feel, but that didn’t stray too far from the primary brand colors and organization typeface that had been set prior to my arrival. Other than this directive, I was left to define the creative direction with little-to-no input.
Project Scope:
- Provide a background of the organization’s logos and purpose
- Provide details on available typefaces and options
- Establish a color family by which all materials should be based
- Establish brand use guidelines
- The guidelines were updated a second time in 2018 as we added a new performing group to the organization
