CASE STUDY

Makarem & Associates

Project type: website redesign
2020

Context / Challenges:

The biggest challenge with this project was that the firm was adamant on keeping the banner theme image of the climbers – one lending a hand to the other. Thematically, it makes sense, given the firm’s practice focus of employment law. But during our initial consultation, we had encouraged the firm to shift to custom images in an effort to build authenticity and trust with end-users. The firm rejected this recommendation however and so I needed to come up with a way to showcase the firm’s talented attorneys while still maintaining the previous banner messaging. Ultimately, I used the balance of the homepage to really showcase the firm in as many ways as possible.

Project Scope:

  • Refine the established color scheme to ensure that it followed ADA guidelines for readability and contrast
  • Continue the visual theme of the climbers but incorporate the firm’s talented attorneys to help build authenticity and trust with end-users
  • Craft engaging layouts and navigation throughout the site that encourages end-users to interact with buttons and links
